To the two or three of you who care:
Karl got sick this past Sunday and had a terrible fever. Unfortunately, this left us totally unable to record anything. However, we plan on having a show up next week. I also want to take this time then to plug our other podcast, Radio Free Nintendo. This is done for Planet GameCube, of which you can read more about here.
I imagine anyone reading this would be primarily interested in the ones Karl and I are in, so I'll link to those specifically. I encourage everyone, though, to listen to the others as well.
Also, a caveat: This is a podcast about the gaming industry, while we touch on many other subjects, it's still pretty esoteric. But it's Karl and me, so how could you possibly resist?
Episode Nine: Nintendo Pirate Radio
This was our first podcast for PGC and it shows. We improved on the audio later on, and it can be a little obvious at times. However, we did help shape things to come by discussing a topic rather than focusing on the news. In this one we discuss the new wave of gaming journalism and the emergence of wannabe Hunter S. Thompson's.
Episode Eleven: Nintendo Pirate Radio Returns!
Jonathan Metts, PGC's site director, enjoyed our Pirate podcast enough to ask to join us and discuss gaming journalism and public relation's role in it. We also touch on a review of mine that won a bit of notoriety.
Episode Thirteen: We Were Nintendo People
This is strictly Evan and Karl (you may remember Evan from Episode 5 of GFP). It was an emergency podcast and they threw it up at the last minute. Still worth a listen just to hear us on desperation mode.
Episode Fourteen: Arthouse Pirate Theater 3000
Karl and I are back together discussing the different artistic aspects of games. Including, but not limited to: voice acting, art design, and music.
Episode Fifteen: Come Ride My Dark Horseman
Karl and I join with Radio Free's daddy, Mike Sklens, to discuss four possible problems that could bring about another huge gaming industry crash.
Episode Nineteen: For the Sake of Controversy
Jonathan, Karl, Evan, and I discuss a recent glut of controversial articles that have recently appeared on Planet GameCube. Many thought of us as negative nancies. But we had to prove we were right. This one also features the first appearance of RFN mascot Sweet Pete, the Pirate of the Jungle.
Episode Twenty-One: Activision, Ubi, and PS3
Karl and Evan in desperation mode again. It's really quite pathetic.
Episode Twenty-Two: The Nintendo Game that Wasn't
Our most recent episode, Evan, Jonny, Karl, and I do a normal Radio Free Nintendo show and comment on the news of the week. Topics include Nintendo Wii preorders, Clover Studios closing, and the songlist included in an upcoming DS rhythm game called Elite Beat Agents. Also look out for Sweet Pete shilling his favorite treat.
So there. That's more than enough podcasting for just about any human being. If for whatever reason, we're late again, take a listen to any of these and pretend to be entertained!
